Webmail, though not perfect, is very useful:
- as your primary mail client
- as a secondary mail client
- when you are traveling
- in the case of problems with your regular PC
Webmail is just an IMAP mail client. As such, it will expose the the very same folders and messages as your desktop IMAP mail client (if you use one) because your e-mail folders and messages are stored on our server instead of your local PC.
If you want to use the IMAP protocol on your regular desktop PC, we recommend using webmail or the free Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com) mail client, though the newest versions of Outlook and other mail clients can also be used.

Our new webmail is easy to use and very capable. It works right from the start, but you may want to configure a couple of things, particularly if your e-mail address is not <you>@sonoracomm.com.
If your e-mail address is in the form of <you>@<your.domain>, be sure to set the 'From Address' to <you>@<your.domain> in the Default Identity.

Spam Filter
Our new mail server has advanced spam and virus filtering with a quarantine that you can check for falsely filtered messages. This spam filtering service is free and will become even more accurate over time.
To check the quarantine for falsely filtered messages, you can use webmail. Just look in the 'junkmail' folder. You may have expand the Mail folder on the left side by clicking the '+' sign to see it.
Disk Quota
The standard mailbox size has been increased to 50MB. Additional disk space is fast and easy to add in 50MB increments.
Maximum Message Size
The maximum individual message size including attachments is 10MB. However, large messages cause awkward delays when sending...be patient, it's just the nature of using a web browser in this manner.
Backup
We regularly back up e-mail data. If you use the IMAP protocol and leave your message store on our server, it is backed up. We just charge to do a restore from backup. It's fast and easy.
